Since 1979, Alpha Delta Pi had been committed to serving the Ronald McDonald House Charities. This organization helps keep families with seriously ill or injured children together when they need it most by offering them a comfortable, temporary residence in proximity to a medical facility. Our sisters support this foundation by regularly volunteering at the local RMHC in Pasadena, and by hosting our annual philanthropy event.
During our biggest philanthropy event of the year, “Lion’s Cup”, ADPi hosts UCLA fraternities and sororities in a soccer tournament to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Each girl in ADPi takes the role of “captain” for one of the participating houses. Money is raised through entry fees, t-shirts, and raffle ticket sales. After the tournament, the “Lion’s Cup Soiree” event takes place in our very own backyard! Participating fraternities engage in a talent show to become the infamous “Lion King”.
In addition to raising money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities, we also participate in numerous philanthropic events hosted by UCLA Greek Life and other local organizations.
